This is important to us all because the International Court of Justice and Human Rights must act now to prevent women from being physically tortured. They have to act on behalf of all women to change the way women are treated and provide compensation for women who have been abused by the government. Women must be free to express and not be forced into prostitution. Government and politicians use women like business, by taking away their human rights and using their bodies. They are taking advantage of unemployment, whenever they want. They don't respect their property, and their aren't given any jobs and rights away from their properties.

and many many unaffiliated, autonomous individuals

State-based violence is not new to our Trans, Gender Non-Conforming, Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Two Spirit and Queer communities, especially queer and trans Black, and Indigenous people. Our ancestors for centuries have been disrespected, ignored, caged, abused, and subject to deadly violence since the formation of the American national identity. Stories of family members disappearing in police custody, violent backlash and attacks to silence and suppress us, and twisted politicians using our bodies for political gain are all too familiar.

And while the new political realities in the US and the rise of fascism around the world have many calling for unity, bold action and even revolution, we continue to see the transphobia, misogyny, xenophobia, anti blackness and racism that is at the root of Trump's power reflected back to us in our own community and in the growing movement to resist Trump's agenda. This year is on track to be the most dangerous year yet for trans women of color — even more violent than 2016, and 2015 before that.

So far in 2017, seven of our sisters have lost their lives to horrific acts of violence. These Black and native trans women's lives were in jeopardy on multiple levels before November 8th and threats have only increased since. However, despite the hyper-visible outrage against anti-woman and anti-LGBT policies led and inspired by the Trump administration, the loss of Mesha Caldwell, Jaquarrius Holland, Chyna Doll Depree, JoJo Striker, Ciara McElveen, Jamie Lee Wounded Arrow, Tiara Richmond, and the calls for action from trans women in our community have been met with telling silence.

"ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) occur in greater frequency among Latin American youth, specifically first-generation immigrant children. Studies also show that first-generation immigrant Latino youth are at higher risk of depression, anxiety and PTSD. This is in part caused by the constant stress and fear of deportation of themselves or family members.

These children suffer developmentally and educationally as well. They cannot access basic services such as early intervention, meal assistance or other government programs because their parents fear detection and deportation, even though a large proportion of these children are actually born in the United States and qualify for these programs. This results in even greater disparities between the Latin American community and the rest of the country." …

On Wednesday, March 22nd, we invite you to stand up to protect our immigrant neighbors in Rhode Island.

The House Judiciary Committee will face a choice in either protecting our immigrant neighbors from Trump's deportation force, or collaborating with federal immigration officials in the splitting apart of families and our community.

The Comittee will hear H5515 ( webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText17/HouseText17/H5515.pdf ), a bill we support, as it would:

Prevent ICE from enlisting the help of local law enforcement officials in deporting families.

Protect cities and towns from the threat of litigation as a result of cooperating with ICE, as it prevents said cooperation

We encourage community members to testify AGAINST H5093 ( webserver.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText17/HouseText17/H5093.pdf ), a bill that would:

It will not make our communities safer. This bill mandates widely discredited policing practices, eroding public trust and making local policing more difficult. And has been publically opposed by Providence Public Safety Commissioner Steven Pare, and also nationally criticized by mayors and police chiefs.

It will drive our immigrant communities further underground, making people less likely to report crimes for fear of being targeted by the police.

ICE's Secure Communities Program has deported several undocumented immigrants as a result of "collateral" arrests, leading to the deportation of those who have not committed nor been convicted of any crime in the United States. …

The RI state legislature is considering a new bill, supported by the Governor, to provide free college tuition to all RI graduating students for the first two years of college. As we understand it, this would also include undocumented students since they are eligible for in-state tuition. Join the Brown Progressive Action Committee at Faunce Arch to walk down. They are also organizing folks to testify. BIRC would like to collaborate with them to send folks together.
If you want to meet at the state house: the House Finance Committee is meeting at 4:00PM (but testimonies to start at 4:45PM). They will be in the basement of the State House in Room 35. …

Governor Gina Raimondo's free tuition proposal is being considered by the House Finance Committee on Wednesday March 15th. Instead of our weekly phone bank, BPAC will be coming together with other Rhode Island residents to show that there is strong support for the proposal. We will be meeting at 3:00 pm at Faunce Arch before walking down to the statehouse to make our voices heard at a rally for free tuition before the committee meeting.

If you are able to join us, please fill out this Google Form: goo.gl/forms/JRmAILSDraAFRr243

Following the rally, people will speak in support of the proposal before the committee. If you would like to testify at the hearing, please mark that on the Google Form. At this time, there will also be lobbying for a bill that bans domestic abusers from having guns. You are encouraged to come to the statehouse if you'd like to lobby for that bill as well.

When he tried to board his plane back to the U.S., he was notified that the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul had revoked his student visa. On February 28, we will deliver a petition to the offices of Democratic Representatives Corvese, O'Brien, Phillips, Ucci, and Edwards to express our opposition to the so-called SAFETY AND PROTECTION ACT" (Bill H 5093). This bill would make it a crime for local public officials not to aggressively target immigrants in our community and allow any citizen to sue them if they didn't. This measure forces every local official to be a tool of Trump's racist immigration policy — and it goes against Rhode Island values & and what Democrats purport to stand for. Representatives, take your names off it!

Sign the petition here:

petitions.moveon.org/workingfamilies/sign/dont-write-trumps-anti?source=c.em&r_by=4643457

More information on why we oppose Bill H 5093:

will not make our communities safer. This bill mandates widely discredited policing practices, eroding public trust and making local policing more difficult. And has been publically opposed by Providence Public Safety Commissioner Steven Pare, and also nationally criticized by mayors and police chiefs.

will drive our immigrant communities further underground, making people less likely to report crimes for fear of being targeted by the police.

a state whose hallmark is The Independent Man, H 5093 would require your state and local governments to do what they are told by the Trump administration, whether it is good for Rhode Islanders or not, including reporting the citizenship status of any Rhode Islander to the Federal Government.

** This event is being organized by a new coalition to protect immigrant rights **

petitions.moveon.org/workingfamilies/sign/dont-write-trumps-anti?source=c.em&r_by=4643457

We, members of the Brown Immigrant Rights Coalition (BIRC), are empowered by the collective efforts that resulted in recent policy changes in regards to undocumented students at Brown University. These changes will enable undocumented and DACA-mented students to apply as domestic applicants beginning this admissions cycle. Undocumented and DACA-mented applicants will now benefit from the university's need-blind admissions policy, and upon matriculation, Brown University will meet 100 percent of each students' demonstrated financial need.

This work would have been impossible without the tireless labor of students, faculty, and alumni, especially women of color and undocumented students who are too often the subject of institutional erasure. We recognize that there is much work left to be done, and BIRC is determined to remain active in the implementation of these policies at Brown. We are also committed to continue the fight within the global immigrant rights struggle in order to uphold our values and create a world where all forms of oppression are abolished. …

"Data released by the Department of Homeland Security shows that black immigrants are detained and deported at higher rates than their counterparts of other backgrounds. Over the past 20 years, since the 1996 laws have been in effect, statistics have shown a dramatic, alarming increase in the number of undocumented immigrants of African descent who have been racially profiled by local police and turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation. Estimates show that the deportation rate of undocumented black immigrants is five times their numbers in the undocumented population, which is similar to the overrepresentation of African Americans in the criminal justice system. Furthermore, black immigrants are twice as likely to be detained due to a criminal conviction. Even though black immigrants make up only 7% of the total immigrant population, 20% of all immigrants in deportation proceedings due to criminal convictions are black." …

March Against Hateful Borders

March 18, 2017, 10:30am – March 18, 2017, 3:30pm

"An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." For this reason, we are letting our voice be heard in celebration of inclusivity and diversity through a march in Downtown Los Angeles. The march will go from Grand Park by City Hall and will proceed down Hill Street, make a right on 6th Street, and will end at the immigration court on Olive and 6th Street. We anticipate the following program:

10:30 – 11:00 am: Gather, play music, and get to know one another

11:00 – 11:30 am: Voter registration drive (assisting people to register via smart phones and written voter registration applications)

11:30 am – 12:30 pm: March approximately one mile to destination

12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Performances, speeches and press conference

Of course plenty of time is given for more flexibility, no stress, only celebration of the diversity that makes us great.

Today, on World Water Day, the US Human Rights Network (USHRN) is hosting an official 61st UN Commission on the Status side event on the climate crisis, sustainable economies, and the human right to clean water from the perspective of Black, Indigenous, and Global South communities.

Black, Indigenous and Global South communities continue to experience human rights violations – including the denial of the human rights to clean water and sanitation – the world is facing undeniable and disastrous impacts of climate change. Leaders and human rights defenders will offer important insights, lessons, and ways forward that defend basic human rights for all," said US Human Rights Network (USHRN) Executive Director Colette Pichon Battle. USHRN is co-hosting this event with the US Climate Action Network.

Focus for today: I SMILE

The book, One Smile, by Cindy McKinley, describes the power of a girl smiling at a discouraged, unemployed man sitting on a bench.

Her tiny gesture of caring started a positive chain reaction with far-reaching effects.

Based on the movie, Pay It Forward, one smile inspired a positive change–one face at a time.

Reflection Questions:
* If 70% of communication is non-verbal, what does my body language typically express?
* What would it take to turn my attitude around to smile, even at strangers?
* How could I start a positive chain reaction by changing my non-verbal messages?

Action Step:
I pay it forward and make a point to smile warmly at: ______________________ …

We learn to practice nonviolence one step at at time, one choice at a time, one day at a time. Join HREI in Carrying the Vision of PEACE during the SEASON FOR NONVIOLENCE. The annual 64-day Season for Nonviolence was launched at the United Nations in 1998. Since then, peacemakers from over 67 countries have participated in this educational and grassroots campaign. The season spans these two memorial anniversaries: Mahatma Gandhi (January 30th) and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (April 4th). Share HREI Facebook page posts during this period, enjoy personal reflection and strengthen your circle of family and friend's commitment to take action as peacemakers.

Peace begins within and radiates outwardly to create a more just and compassionate world.

Centered in the Spirit that unites us all, imagine what we can create together!

there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me."

Here we go…

Focus for Today: I AM COURAGEOUS
The word means full of heart and spirit. When I take a deep breath and relax my body, I tap into an inner courage. My heart opens to trust an inner wisdom and to release my fears.

Gestalt psychotherapist Fritz Perls explained: is excitement without the breath." Breathing deeply transforms fear and unleashes new possibilities.

I choose courage to guide my response, rather than anxiety.

Reflection Questions:
* What encourages me to trust that I am capable enough to courageously act upon what I know?
* How will I overcome any doubts or fears?
* What strengthens me to act–full of heart and spirit–within the world?

Action Step (if you like, Copy, paste and post your Action response in our "comments" area to share):
I breathe deeply to transform fear into excitement. I will act more courageously, especially when:____________________ …

Dear yarra city council. I sent you the letter on 11/10/16. And you did not reply to me if you got the letter. And I did sent you another one on 18.10.16 and you never got back so me. You're using your power to harm me financially.
This is my country and they abuse our people by physiological torture and physical pain and they deny people fair jobs. false governing and greed let them not give people jobs while there are many jobs in the infrastructure like transport and they give frequency of fines for working at such and can be up to 500 dollars were the normal fine is 4 dollars. they have a license but still wont give you a license, and gives you fines in anyway and to stop you from obtaining a license and when you dont deal with the fine they take your property and house away and this is finacial torture to stop you talking and the people dont have rights.

When they take you to court they start charge lowyer fee. Then the pay come around 4 thousand . The contral pubishement treetment force 5hem to commit suicide. Then community looses responsibility and start take medication for stress. The person being happy reconect someone to be normal. Teaching is something that huide people than punishment which challenges people.

When i was talking with the authority, he came to me and told me why do you want to suffer because of women. I realized he doesn't know that it affects him as well.
He does not understand that over controlling them causes trouble which affects him. Putting the rules of her not having any relationship with people around you also causes problems. I found that he doesn't understand that the authorized gets charged for developing relationships with workers. That is the life that he is challenged. no one has a right over their life. Only one person I found that understands the rights. He was a dictator however never involved in human rights. Because he knew they affected him He joined all the tribe and respected his life as well as rights. The job shouldn't eliminate a person's life and during work time a person should respect what she does.. and when you finish work the job should respect your life. He was a dictator but he never interferes with human rights because he enjoyed it as well.
No one was judging him that he was with a particular person which is caused by all of this is jealousy and selfishness It caused the problem to be killed and raped. If they had right this wouldn't be happening . Even the killer also end up in prison.
Support women rights for your wife and sisters to have rights , your sons will have rights as well
