Welcome to the Fireside Chat! Tonight we’ll talk about some of the latest examples of courage, resistance and transformation as empire teeters at the brink and the neoliberal order melts down - with endless war abroad and austerity at home. People are rising up in inspired struggle for human rights, economic and racial justice, climate survival and democracy.

We’ll discuss President Trump’s Asia trip as a tone-deaf “America first” weapons salesman, and the clueless US effort to promote coal/gas/nuclear power at the Bonn climate summit (!). We’ll celebrate continuing grassroots struggle and triumph – from the Newtown/Sandy Hook families seeking accountability from reckless gun manufacturers; to the South Koreans protesting Trump and calling for peace and negotiation; to the cities, states and communities supporting and surpassing the Paris climate goals; to the emerging cannabis economy that’s a win-win for justice, public health and prosperity; and the fight to beat back the attack on Ranked Choice Voting. Please join in the conversation and share your comments, questions and stories!

We’ll also discuss the latest mass shooting and connect the dots to domestic violence, diseases of despair and poverty – all at grinding high levels as the empire brings endless war abroad and deep austerity at home.

Welcome to tonight’s Fireside Chat. As U.S. empire teeters at the brink and the neoliberal order melts down, we’ll discuss some of the latest developments in the saga of resistance and transformation - Trump’s distressing condolence call to Myesha Johnson and the murky Niger mission that led to La David Johnson’s death, the meltdown of the Republican Party and the DNC’s continuing war against reform, sabotage of Ranked Choice Voting by the Maine legislature and the people’s veto to preserve this critical win for democracy, and alarming developments in Korea and how to stop the stumble towards nuclear war.

Then we’ll turn to special guest Julie Bañuelos to hear about resisting the corporate attack on public schools in the voting booth, and how we can help propel this people-powered Green onto the school board in Denver, Colorado. Please join the conversation and post your questions, comments and inspiration!

Welcome to tonight’s Fireside Chat. Tonight we take stock of some of the latest crises - from California fires, to the continuing disaster in Puerto Rico, Trump’s sham tax reform, grinding poverty rates in the US, the accelerating slide towards nuclear war in Korea and the attack on the Iran nuclear deal. And we’ll talk about heroic resistance – how people are standing up, calling to cancel Puerto Rico’s debt, blocking Trump’s latest Muslim ban, pushing back against cuts to health care, forcing another corrupt Trump nominee to withdraw, and mobilizing against WWIII on the Korean Peninsula.

Then we’ll hear from the only progressive in the New Jersey Governor’s race, Green Party powerhouse Seth Kaper-Dale. Seth will join us live from protests against a debate that outrageously locked out all candidates who raised less than $430,000. We’ll hear how Seth is refusing to be silenced in his fight for justice in a democracy sold to the highest bidder - in New Jersey as throughout our nation. Join the conversation. Which of these crises are hitting you and your community? How are you coping? How are you fighting back? Share your thoughts, questions, & inspirations.
